“I’d appreciate it if people didn’t take my comments about Kanye West or anyone else for that matter out of context to contrive a story. I have nothing but respect for my little brother Kanye and what he has achieved in his young career and I look forward to watching his evolution as an artist. There is a reason why we put him on the new We Are The World 25 for Haiti – he’s a great rapper. But having been in the music business for more than 60 years and having been fortunate to accomplish what I have over that time, it’s not unreasonable to put a comparison of Kanye at this time in his career and myself into the proper perspective. This is not dissing Kanye, this is simply trying to express that I’m not a rapper! I don’t need to take anyone else’s props away from them. Let’s all just try and keep the record straight.” – Quincy D. Jones (11.22.10)”—@QuincyDJones regarding comments about @KanyeWest #Respect #Salute
Just after releasing her sixth studio album, Something About Faith, as an independent artist, Faith Evans, Singer and Actress, opens up to Voice Online about the murder of her late husband, Notorious B.I.G. and her feelings about Lil’ Kim, who reportedly shared a romantic relationship with the deceased rapper during their marriage.
Faith’s theory on B.I.G.’s murder:
“We put the case on hold; until [the police] can prove that they’re actually pursuing it. But in our hearts – the family – we have an idea what happened, says the platinum recording artist.
We don’t know who pulled the trigger but we have an idea what went on. It’s not something I would speak on because it’s still a pending case, so that wouldn’t be smart at all. But we have an idea, though we don’t know if it will ever be solved in the judicial system.”
Although, Lil’ Kim’s relationship with B.I.G. occurred during their marriage, Faith holds no ill will towards her:
“I don’t hate anybody,” she says. “I have a lot of respect for her and I really hope she comes out with new music. I think she’s one of the best female rappers out there. I don’t have a personal relationship with her, but I don’t have any issues or hard feelings with her either. I don’t see her often but when I do, I say hello.”
The time period when we nodded our head to B.I.G.’s boisterous voice and bodacious beats are still so fresh in my mind. I miss his artistry, and am happy that Faith is continuing to keep hers and share her voice with the world. More of the interview here.

I am thankful for an unlimited amount of blessings, but most grateful for the three people in the photo shown below! My son, husband and daughter are the light of my life and I am thankful to have a loving and supportive family! Lots of love and light to my Mother, Father, Brother, Sisters, Family and Friends!! <3
For the blessings I have received this year, I am grateful. Interestingly enough, I am most thankful for learning that when you begin to move within the purpose of your life, the universe conspires to meet your needs; what God has for you is yours. God will place you in the right place, at the right time, with the right people for your destiny to be achieved. I believe this with everything I am because I am living it right now; a walking, breathing, testifying witness to His grace.
I am also very grateful for all that has been removed from my life. As I reflect on my blessings today, I am humbled when I consider in hindsight all that He has saved me from… True story.
Today, join me in taking a moment to consider all that you have and be thankful for what you don’t. May this Thanksgiving find you in fellowship with family, friends and in fond remembrance of those that watch us from the arms of God.
