Beyonce’s publicist told the Associated Press that the superstar is no longer managed by her father, Matthew Knowles/Music World Entertainment. Kelly Rowland and Michele Williams, former members of Destiny’s Child left his management in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
In a statement Beyonce said, “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps. She adds that “he is my father for life and I love my dad dearly.”
No word yet on who Beyonce will sign with, but I will not be surprised if she signs with Roc Nation, her husband Sean Carter aka Jay-Z’s conglomerate.
Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles released a statement about the “mutual” decision today:
“The decision for Beyoncé and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment. Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”
Maybach Music Group (MMG), founded by Rick Ross, announced via Twitter that they signed the “Lioness,” Teedra Moses. She is the first R&B singer signed to the label, but the second female; MMG also grabbed Audra the Rapper.
The Queen’s Castle love Teedra long time! Her first album, Complex Simplicity, was discovered on Pandora several years ago. Since then, me and the rest of her fans have been living off the mix tapes, which have been released every few years.
If you’re not familiar with Teedra, that’s a shame, but I got you. Go here, to download and get acquainted. She’s also on YouTube. A few months ago, she and Marsha Ambrosius tore up S.O.B’s in New York; you’ll enjoy the clips out there from that show.
Now that she’s signed with Maybach, I hope her newest album, currently titled, The Young Lioness, will be available later this year. Word is Teedra will be featured on the MMG compilation, Self Made, scheduled for release on May 25.
