I heart Melanie Fiona, her sound is soulful, her lyrics are thoughtful, containing all the essential ingredients to be classified ‘real music.’ This weekend Like I Love You, a single from her mix tape The MF Life, hit the net; it’s scheduled to be released in the near future, and prior to her sophomore album of the same title.
Watch what Melanie Fiona had to say about her forthcoming album, The MF Life, when The Queen’s Castle talked to her at 92Q during a stop in Nashville with the BET Music Matters Tour.
There’s one name that is consistently associated with some of the best concerts and shows that Nashville has to offer, Lovenoise. Solely and through strategic partnerships, Lovenoise has been responsible for bringing some of the top artist in the industry to different venues throughout the city.
Tonight, Lovenoise hosts Big K.R.I.T., formidably one of the top rappers to come out of the South in most recent years. The Mississippi native is generating a buzz the industry can’t deny and word is, he’s going to bring it all to the Mercy Lounge stage. Next week on June 25, Cedric the Entertainer, will hit the stage at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Followed by Lovenoise’s annual Independence Day Bash which will get the city ready to host Wiz Khalifa & Big Sean on July 8.
When The Queen’s Castle spoke to Lovenoise executive, Eric Holt, about the increased volume and quality of shows the company is offering, he shared, “We are at a place with Lovenoise where we are maximizing every opportunity. This year our motto is ‘Leave no show behind,’ and we are offering larger shows as frequently as possible.”
If the last several months are any example of what we can expect for the rest of the year and years to come, Lovenoise will keep doing it best, but harder and louder, than anyone else in their industry.

Events like this magnify the Music City’s dedication to support quality acts for a reasonable ticket price, and more often than not, it is performances of this caliber that are synonymous with The LoveNoise Group.
The Queen’s Castle had an opportunity to ask a few questions and capture Melanie Fiona’s in-studio interview at 92Q. In the clip, she discusses what fans can expect on her upcoming album, The MF Life, how she happened to collaborate with Cee-Lo and Phillip Bailey on Fool For You, some of the artists she’s currently listening to, and her sense of style. The in-studio interview was great, she was very candid, allowing guests to ask questions until time forced the ending.
Later that night at the Limelight, Fiona’s stage show was energetic, animated, quality, and full of awesomeness. She performed crowd favorites from her debut album, The Bridge, including Bang Bang, Give It To Me Right, and It Kills Me. She also shared Rock, Paper, Scissors, which will appear on her soon to be released album, The MF Life, and closed with a cover of Alanis Morissette’s Ironic (which was simply put, super-dope-fly). The Queen’s Castle is looking forward to her new album and continuing to support her music for years to come.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Nashville with @RealTalibKweli & @JeanGreasy at the Cannery Ballroom
The Gutter Rainbows Tour featuring lyrical phenomenon Talib Kweli will be at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville on Thursday, May 5 for what promises to be one of the livest Cinco de Mayo celebrations in the city’s history!
With Jean Grae scheduled to open the set, there is no question what will take place at the Cannery, will only be described as epic! Grae is creating a path of her own for female lyricist in the game, constant evolution; her 16 bar game is not to be messed with.
Once again, music connoisseurs The Smoking Section and LoveNoise collaborate to bring one of the most brilliant metaphorical minds in the rap game to Music City, but of course.
More information and tickets are available, here. Indeed, Blacksmith will be in the building.
The Lovenoise Group recently teamed up with Grid Iron 9 to provide entertainment in a format alluring to Nashville’s grown and sexy. With an intimate setting at Dr. Bobby Jones’ Vision’s, guest enjoyed a chef prepared dinner with entertainment by two-time Grammy nominee, Eric Roberson.
Vision’s was near capacity when all the guests arrived to enjoy their choice of two wonderful three course meals that were prepared by Chef Jason. The main entrée course offered an option of buttermilk fried chicken fillet w/ancho honey glaze or muscadine braised beef roast; both plates were delicious. Dessert was just as sweet, chocolate covered strawberry brandy cake or peach strudel with cinnamon vanilla cream. While dinner was being enjoyed, the show’s opening acts were taking the stage.
Silverware was put down long enough to fill Vision’s with the sound of fingers snapping when poet, J. Cru, hit the stage to deliver a few original pieces. Shortly after, Curtis Fields, half-crooner, half-comedian, got a hold of the microphone and kept the crowd laughing with his rendition of Musiq’s, Just Friends, and other original songs, setting the tone for Eric Roberson’s arrival.
Roberson’s was met with warm adoration from his fans when he appeared on stage. To them he is “ERRO,” and his ability to write about real life, while pouring an authentic story into his music is what his fans appreciate. He’s lyrically colorful and is musically supported by rhythmic, melodic, tracks that thump while coloring way outside the lines; for example, consider “Still,” which also helped to secure his second Grammy nomination.
During his set, fans sang along to music from all seven of his albums and he also performed singles from Music Fan First. The dessert service was made sweeter by Roberson’s performance of She, Pretty Girl, Borrow You and an original song he created on the spot with words provided by the audience.
Watch as Erro freestyle’s to the following words from the audience: Creative, Spinach, Reparations, Leggings, Rubics Cube, and Guidance…
After his performance, The Queen’s Castle had a moment to ask the “King of Independent Music” a few questions:
Through the Lens :: @ChrisetteM “Music City Melody”
When Chrisette Michele Let Freedom Reign in Nashville’s “Music City” this past February, The Queen’s Castle was in the building. Based on the size of the crowd that LoveNoise and 92Q brought out that evening, half of the city must have joined me. Watch the clip above in full screen for optimal viewing. :)
Chrisette’s voice is unlike any other. Classically trained, her Soul, Gospel, R&B influenced sound is creatively unique. On the evening these photos were captured, Kenny Lattimore was also on the ticket (check for his interview with The Queen’s Castle, soon)!
Michele’s Aston Martin remix with Drake, and her single, I’m A Star, provide the soundtrack for this photo compilation. Her newest album, Let Freedom Reign, is brilliant. She’s definitely coming into her own as a person, and an artist. Change is constant, and you can tell from her body of work that she’s growing.
