I fully realize that no wealth of position can long endure, unless built upon truth and justice; therefore, I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealously, selfishness, and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude towards others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them, and in myself. I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it aloud once a day, with full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so that I will become a self-reliant and successful person.

Napoleon Hill (1883-1970), “Think and Grow Rich”

Life’s challenges are opportunities to know and trust yourself more. Your trials are just a yardstick to measure against the good times. And the people who hurt you are not your enemies but blessings in disguise. There is nothing that can stop you!

David Goggins is an exceptional young man. I know his mother. Raised in a single-parent household, David has defied the former assesments of early educators that wanted to segregate him from his peers. His mother advocated on his behalf and was determined that her son would beat the odds.

From this video it should be apparent that David is persistent, hard-working with an ability to recognize that his only competition is the man in the mirror. He pushes himself beyond comfortable. How many of us do that?

Do you have a goal? Write it down. Take actions toward it. Stop talking about it. Do it. Know this:  Unwritten goals are fantasy. Period.
