The Queen’s Castle was in the building for the world premiere of He’s Mine Not Yours, which screened at the 2011 International Black Film Festival of Nashville.

Gabrielle Dennis and Caryn Ward were in attendance for the film’s world premiere, you can watch The Queen’s Castle’s exclusive interview with these talented actresses and the film’s director, Roger Melvin, here.

Released by Image Entertainment, the film centers around the relationship of Kent and Brooke, played by Weaver and Dennis; it is a hilarious comedy that movie lovers will enjoy and is scheduled to air on BET in December as a Sunday movie.

Here’s the synopsis:

Kent (Jason Weaver) is ready to put his playboy past behind him and marry the girl he loves—but first, he has to prove he’s changed his ways for good. Convinced that “all men cheat,” Brooke (Gabrielle Dennis) hires a reputational temptress (Caryn Ward) to confirm her suspicion that Kent is incapable of fidelity. But, when the professional seductress falls for Kent, the ultimate test of loyalty becomes a fight to win his affection. Torn between the girlfriend determined to make him Mr. Perfect and the seemingly perfect woman, Kent realizes that his grass may be green enough! Source

Each of the character’s story are enhanced by the supporting cast, which includes familiar faces Carl Payne, Darius McCrary, Clifton Powell, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Nadine Ellis from BET’s Let’s Stay Together. Ellis’ new sitcom cast mate, Christian Keyes, also has a cameo in the film!

Last week, The Queen’s Castle was in attendance for the World Premiere screening of two films during the International Black Film Festival of Nashville (IBFFN), Roger Melvin’s He’s Mine Not Yours and The Perfect Gift, which is directed by Alvin Moore, Jr.!

Written by Marlon Jones, He’s Mine Not Yours is a hilarious romantic comedy which features Black Hollywood’s finest including Caryn Ward (The Game, N-Secure), Gabrielle Dennis (The Game), Jason Weaver (Drumline, ATL), Carl Payne (Martin, The Cosby Show), Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Game, The Steve Harvey Show), Darius McCrary (The Young and the Restless, Family Matters), Clifton Powell (Ray, Norbitt) and even a cameo appearance from Christian Keyes (Madea Goes to Jail). Centered around Kent (Weaver) and Brooke’s (Dennis) relationship, the movie explores what happens when insecurities and temptation meet head-to-head.

On the red carpet, The Queen’s Castle caught up with the film’s director, Roger Melvin, and co-stars Gabrielle Dennis and Caryn Ward. We talk to Gabrielle about “Brooke,” her character in the film, and find out what our favorite “Baby Momma,” Janae, is getting into on the upcoming season of BETs The Game. Caryn hit the carpet on the heels of the season finale for her new show, siSTARS, she dishes on her production company, One Mind Films, her role in He’s Mine Not Yours, and the importance of platforms like the IBFFN.

Carl Payne and Jason Weaver are a classic comedic duo together on screen, they also co-produced the film. I hope they continue putting films together that bring black actors like Darius McCrary and Clifton Powell, who also have featured roles in The Perfect Gift, to the screen.

The Perfect Gift stars Reuben Studdard and our favorite ‘Girlfriend,’ Golden Brooks, in a story of about the true meaning of Christmas. Find out what she told The Queen’s Castle when we asked about the petition to get her former sitcom back on air…

On the heels of the successful release of A Mother’s Prayer, which stars Robin Givens and Johnny Gill, Nashville’s own, Alvin Moore, Jr. delivers The Perfect Gift, a film he wrote and directed. Based on the holiday’s, the film releases on November 1, just in time for Christmas. In the film, Brooks plays Sandra, the long-time live-in girlfriend of Michael Harris (Studdard), who learns a valuable lesson about the greatest gift he can give his family at any time of the year.

Moore and Golden took a few moments to speak with The Queen’s Castle just before the film’s world premiere. During the interview, we learn about Moore’s upcoming projects, the plot of the movie and Golden shares why being a part of this project was so important to her. She also dishes about the ‘Girlfriends’ petition and if she would be open to a film!

So when will you be able to see these great films? The Perfect Gift is available on pre-order now, it goes on sale November 1. He’s Mine Not Yours will release on December 6th, is now available for pre-sale and will air on BET in December. Inside @TiaMowry’s Baby Shower!

The Game star, Tia Mowry, was recently surprised by her husband, Cory Hardict, at their baby shower. The couple were surrounded with love by friends, family, and Tia’s show co-stars Wendy Raquel Robinson and Brittney Daniel. You know Tia’s twin, newleywed, Tamera, was also in the building, she tells E!, “I can’t wait to be an auntie.” We’ll get to see more about the pregnancy, and events leading up to the wedding in the twins new show on the Style network, Tia and Tamera Take 2.

It’s a great time for the family with brother Tavior recently graduating from college, while Tamera and husband, Adam Housely are celebrating one month of marriage. Some time ago, Tamera broke the news that she and Cory are expecting a boy!

E! reports, “While Tia divulged the sex of her baby a while back, she’s keeping mum on what his name will be until she delivers (her due date is July 3). The actress did give us a hint, however: It starts with a “C” and means warrior.”

Niecy Nash, star of “Clean House” and “Dancing with the Stars” wed her beau, Jay Tucker on May 28, 2011, among 200 guests that included family and their closest friends. TLC aired her two-hour wedding special on June 4. 

The show highlighted Niecy’s preparation for her wedding, finding a dress, selecting a venue, cake and food tasting. Sweet memories were created by Niecy’s wedding dress surprise for her Mommy, Brandy’s rendition of At Last, her children’s participation in the ceremony and reception. The couple got married at the Church Estates Vineyard in Malibu. Sheryl Lee Ralph was Niecy’s Matron of Honor, while her star-studded bridesmaids included Sherri E. Shepherd, Holly Robinson-Peete, and Wendy Raquel Robinson.

In an off the shoulder Ines DiSanto gown with custom-made shoes by Glam Luxe, Niecy was a sight to behold; she was a gorgeous bride! The Queen’s Castle previously brought you the scoop about her Bridal Slumber Party and Bridal Shower. About the ceremony Neicy said it was, “a dream come true to be surrounded by family and friends as I married the most wonderful man.” The happy couple are headed to Anguilla for their honeymoon.

Essence Magazine hosted their 4th annual “Black Women in Hollywood” luncheon a few days ago. This year’s them honored, “Simply the Best” Black actresses, including Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett, Viola Davis and Loretta Devine. Annually, Essence Magazine, celebrates actresses that promote positive images of Black women with their work; benefiting perceptions globally. 

Everyone who was anyone in Black Hollywood was in the building. In the photoset above, I chose a few photos out of the gallery that caught my eye, photo credits to Jennifer Cooper.

Newly engaged, Sherri Shepherd (The View), tweeted pictures of herself, Sheryl Lee Ralph (Actress, Philanthropist, All-Around Phenom), Kita Williams (Terrel Owens Publicist), Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Game) and others at Niecy Nash's Bridal Slumber Party on Friday evening.

Looks like the ladies had a ball, with chocolate covered cherries, and a cake that was provided by Niecy’s handsome intended, Jay Tucker. I’m so happy for Niecy, as I am Sherri and all the other women and men that are intended to be married this year; check out The Queen’s Castle’s Celebrity Engagements post, here.
